William (Dave) Cook was born May 11, 1943. He passed away December 29, 2023 at the age of 80 from Parkinson's. He will be greatly missed and was loved by many, including Club Parkinson's, College Hill United Methodist Church, the College Hill neighborhood, All Saints Home Care, Hospice Of Kansas, the V.A staff, Meals On Wheels, his sister-in-law, Jan. We all saw him power through, persevere and suffer with great fortitude and grit. This disease of Parkinsons, an example to all. The number of people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the United States is expected to double by 2040. For him especially, it seemed a cruel slap in the face. His greatest love was running-Parkinsons was his worst enemy. He ran marathons and would run 25 miles per week. Life is like that though and we grow deeper inside ourselves, hopefully turning to God and Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, A man of sorrows. There will be a potluck lunch held for all to attend at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at College Hill United Methodist Church, 2930 E. 1st St. N., Wichita, KS with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:30 a.m. with Reverend Jill Sander-Chali presiding.
