Carrell
September 26, 1955 — October 4, 2021
Anodver
CARRELL, WESLEY CLEO , went home to be with his heavenly father on October 4, 2021. Wesley was born on September 26, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas to Cecil and Anita (Hamby) Carrell. At a very young age Wesley got involved with his Church family and especially the youth and his dad's shop Carrell's Autobody. Wesley was a graduate of South High, played sax in the band and drums with his church. Wesley loved studying scripture and reading through the Word and even attended seminary in Ft. Worth for a bit. Wesley married Theresa Cook and they had 3 children Michelle, Misty and Shawn. On July 3, 2002 he married Janey Edwards Davis who already had her children Amanda and Craig. Wesley ran Carrell's Autobody with his dad Cecil Carrell until they closed it and then reopened and ran it until about 2010 when he closed due to his health. He loved this work and especially working with the classic cars and fabricating parts for them. After closing the shop Wesley went to work for O'Reilly's. He was a very dependable and reliable workaholic. He tried retiring and was always staying busy as he didn't like retirement. He enjoyed working on his model cars but his greatest love was his grandchildren and he cherished every moment he got with them; even though according to him it wasn't enough time.
Wesley is survived by his wife Janey; children Michelle Carrell, Misty Heck(Bill), Shawn Carrell, Amanda Ashford(Jake) and Craig Davis; brother Danny Carrell(Peggy); 11 grandchildren; one very new great grandchild that he got to spend time with; several nieces, nephews, other family and great friends.
There will be a celebration of life Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1415 S. Topeka Ave., Wichita with Pastor David Crowther presiding. Wesley had some final thoughts for his family and friends that he had written down long ago.
He simply wanted everyone to "Be Happy, I Will Be!!!"
