Wanda Lea Wood stepped into the arms of her Savior on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 94 years of age. Wanda was born in Dewey, Oklahoma, on November 3, 1927, to Beulah Vivian and Wayne Lawson Read. Most of her childhood was spent in Cushing, OK, where she graduated from Cushing High School then attended Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, OK. Wanda spent most of her working life in the Insurance industry, working for Murray Insurance and the Insurance Exchange in Wichita. Met and married Ernest Vincent Wood in 1965. Wanda loved to dance with Ernie to Big Band music and played bridge often with many friends. Her lemon meringue pies were a favorite to all! Most of all, Wanda will be remembered as a woman of prayer, known to diligently pray for her family, friends, and those in need, spending her last waking minutes in prayer for each of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Ernie, daughter Jane, and grandsons Matthew and Chad. Wanda is survived by her children, Cherrie (Lanny Sperry), Tammy (Terry Snyder), Hap (Lisa), Ernest Vincent II (Roberta), Scott (Stacey), a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be sent to Asbury Church, 2801 W. 15th, Wichita, KS. 67203
