Virginia Lee Alexander , lovingly known as "Ginny," passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was 82 years old—a vibrant, kind-hearted woman whose life was filled with joy, deep love for her family, and a contagious warmth that touched everyone she met.

Ginny was born on February 23, 1943, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Charles and Eva (Terpenning) Baird. She grew up in the heart of Cortland, New York, where she spent her early years surrounded by family, friends, and the small-town values that would stay with her for the rest of her life. Ginny attended Cortland High School and graduated with the class of 1961, remembered for her cheerful spirit and her caring heart.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Ginny married the love of her life, Gary Alexander, on August 25th. Their union was a beautiful partnership that would span more than six decades. Together, they built a life full of love, adventure, and resilience. In 1969, Gary and Ginny moved across the country to Honolulu, Hawaii, and in 1984 to Lakewood, Colorado, two places where Ginny embraced new experiences and friendships.

The couple welcomed their son Scott on May 14, 1971, and Ginny embraced motherhood with grace and dedication. Her nurturing nature and steady encouragement helped shape the lives of her son and grandchildren, leaving a legacy of love and strength.

Around 1964, Ginny began working for G.E. Aerospace Division as a transcriber. After Gary was no longer in the Service, they relocated to Hawaii, and she started her own property management business — an endeavor that reflected the trust and teamwork they had always shared. Once she arrived in Lakewood, she worked for Omni Properties, where she retired as the Executive VP. She was meticulous, dependable, and respected by her colleagues.

In 2008, Ginny and Gary began a new chapter in Nikiski, Alaska, embracing the wild beauty of the Last Frontier with characteristic excitement. In 2023, they moved to El Dorado, Kansas, where they became active members of Grace Lutheran Church, finding community and spiritual connection in their new home.

Ginny was a woman full of life. She had a passion for travel, always eager to explore new places and meet new people. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She adored her grandchildren—Gregory, Bailey, and Austin—and cherished her role as great-grandmother to little Talyn. Whether it was attending games, sharing stories, or simply spending time together, Ginny was the heart of the family.

She had a playful side, too, enjoying games of bingo, taking line dancing classes (at the age of 82), and laughing easily with those around her. Her smile lit up every room, and her genuine kindness left a lasting impression. Ginny was the type of person who made friends wherever she went—she was simply loved by all.

Ginny is survived by her devoted husband, Gary; her son Scott and his wife Karen; her grandchildren Gregory (Kylie), Bailey (Luke), and Austin; her beloved great-grandson Talyn; her sister Sylvia Watt; and many other extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eva Baird; her brother Donald Baird; and her son Mark Alexander, who would have been 59.

Though Ginny's earthly journey has ended, her love, her laughter, and the light she shared live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
