PINEGAR, VIRGIL E., 64 , retired Wichita Police Department officer, passed away on July 31, 2017 at his home in Andover surrounded by his family. He was born on January 23, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa to Virgil and Alice Pinegar. Virgil married Karen Meleney in Des Moines on November 1982. Virgil loved to fish and work in his garage on his worktable that he built. He enjoyed putting his garden in every spring and making sure his yard always looked topnotch but he especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

V irgil is survived by his wife Karen; children Jennifer, Sean, Stephen(Rebecca) and Travis; brothers John, Donald and Richard; grandchildren Joshua, Preston, Hunter, Avery, Madyson and Daisy; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Alice.

M emorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 123 N. Andover Rd., Andover, KS. Interment will be in the Bruno Township Cemetery, Andover.
