Thomas William
Riley
May 30, 1965 — December 5, 2025
El Dorado
Thomas "Tom" William Riley, 60, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Andover, Kansas at KMC.
Tom was born on May 30, 1965, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to George and Linda Riley. He attended Field Kindley High School and graduated with the Class of 1984. After high school, he met the love of his life, Susan, and the two were united in marriage in March of 1988.
Tom and Susan made their home in Coffeyville and the surrounding areas for several years before moving to Yates Center to help her parents on their farm. In 2005, they moved to El Dorado to be closer to family and friends.
Tom was known for being a talented handyman and spent many years working in the family business, Rick's Lawn Service LLC. When his health no longer allowed him to work, he devoted his time to caring for others—cooking at home, picking up nieces and nephews from school, taking friends on errands, and helping set up the large Christmas light display at his home in El Dorado, where he lived with his wife and dear friends, Rick and Christina. If something was electrical, Tom could fix it in no time.
Tom was also known for his jokes and the lighthearted pranks he loved to pull on his family—though he rarely thought it was as funny when they teased him back. He loved deeply, lived generously, and found joy in making others laugh.
Tom was devout in his faith and attended Calvary Tabernacle Church in El Dorado, Kansas, where he rarely missed a service and cherished being part of his church family. One of the scriptures he held close was:
Acts 2:38 – "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Tom is survived by his wife, Susan, of El Dorado; his brother, Danny, of Coffeyville; a host of nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends whom he considered family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, and his aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 2pm on Sunday December 21st at Calvary Tabernacle Church 1118 S. Douglas Rd. El Dorado, KS
