Allmond, Thomas Ray, 87 , passed away October 2, 2022 in Augusta.
T homas Ray Allmond was born January 30, 1935 to Asro Wilson Allmond and Anna Marie Brune. He attended Riverside Christian Church and was baptized in his early teens. He enjoyed activities in the church, especially supporting the youth. He and Florence were Sunday School Teachers and youth leaders. Many years he took his vacation to be a camp counselor at Christian Hills Camp in Eureka.
H e graduated from North High in 1953. After that he served in the Army as a radio operator. He worked at Learjet and Boeing 1962-1965 , then as a service rep for Addressograph Multigraph from 1965-.1983. Later he worked at Pioneer Balloon 1992-1997 and drove a bus for Remington School district.
H e married Florence Derksen in July 1964. They spent many happy years together. They had 4 children. Marcia Uhls (Don), Wayne (Andi), Neal (Lisa), Nancy Hammond (Doug). Tom and Florence spent 2 years as Missionaries in Flagstaff, Arizona 1998-2000. He worked with 6 Navajo churches and found it very fulfilling.
T om liked hunting and fishing, canoeing and had many stories to tell. When he was in Maine he shot a trophy buck and was thrilled to share that story. In addition to hunting and fishing, he had a love for the Railroad and trains, an interest in gold digging. He left this world to join his parents, brothers and sister. He leaves behind his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
