Thalia Kay
Harrison
April 27, 1961 — April 6, 2025
Augusta
Thalia Kay Harrison, 63 , was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 27th, 1961, in Wichita, KS, to Vivian H. Sisco Jr. and Carol (Wallace) Webb. She attended East High School and obtained her GED in 1979. Thalia also graduated from the Bryan Institute Chairside Dental Assisting/Front Office Management in 1986. After high school, she married her long-time boyfriend and gave birth to three children: 2 sons and a daughter. In 1986 she met the love of her life, her best friend, and most devoted fan, Donald Harrison Jr. He was a father to 2 daughters. On August 20th, 1988, two families became one as they exchanged their vows to each other.
Thalia retired from the City of Wichita as an Administrative Clerk. She loved to shop, beaches, oceans, Hawaii, the Caribbean, John Wayne, shoes, purses, clothes, manicures, pedicures, horses, her dogs, husband, her family, and most of all her children and 6 grandchildren. Thalia had a sweet and sassy personality that pulled everyone into her orbit. She loved fiercely and fought hard for what she was passionate about. She was our warmth on dark, dreary days and our sunflower when the sun was shining. True to her name, she inspired everyone around her. Whether it was arts and crafts, or advice on life choices, she inspired everyone to be their best, be themselves and to do what made them happy. She was a shoulder to cry on, a sounding board off which to bounce ideas, and someone who brightened the room just by being there.
Thalia—named for the Greek muse of song, laughter, and dance—lived up to every note of her name. She was a beautiful soul: Innocent and sweet, yet strong and stubborn in all the right ways. Her spirit was both gentle and fierce, and she lived every day with love at the center of it all. She had a spark of silliness that could bring joy to the heaviest moments and a deep well of wisdom shaped by a life of both hardship and hope. Though she had endured loss and pain, you would never know it from the way she spoke to others. She met the world with grace, kindness, and unshakable love.
She was creative, curious, and was always making something—crocheting baby blankets, sewing dresses for little girls, tackling puzzles, or getting lost in diamond art. She loved to travel, try new things, and help others chase their dreams. She approached life with openness and bravery. She might have been afraid, but she didn't let fear stop her. Whether it was holding an alligator, going fishing with her husband despite not liking fish or simply trying something new to make someone smile, she did it all with love.
Above all, she adored her husband. Theirs was a fairytale kind of love, the kind that others wanted for themselves. Together they showed what it means to love with intention, to sacrifice with joy and
to build a life rooted in deep mutual care. They were true partners, a daily example of how love can look when it's full of respect, humor, patience, and fierce devotion.
She loved music, everything from John Denver to Journey—and she loved to dance. She was graceful, joyful, and full of rhythm. When her children were little, they'd be at the table coloring or doing homework while she cooked dinner, and she would always be dancing around the kitchen. She was beautiful in the big moments and especially when no one was watching. She made people feel seen. She made people feel loved. She made everyone feel at home.
Thalia was preceded in death by her mother Carol (Wallace) Webb, father Vivian H Sisco Jr., and is survived by Donald Harrison Jr (husband), her son Shaun and Alissea Wood of Haysville, son Christopher Wood of Haysville, daughter Charlotte and husband Matt Moore of Fresno, CA, daughter Shauna and Dan Pugh of Derby, daughter Talissa and Aaron Madrigal of Augusta, acquired daughter Sarah and Rob Pogrant of Augusta, grandchildren Michael Pugh, Josh Pugh, Jaxx Pugh, Aliyah Madrigal, Aaron Madrigal Jr., Tanner Ashley, and brothers Rocky Sisco, Jeff Sisco, John Sisco, and Gene Sisco. The love she gave us will live in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 27th, 2025, at #4 Fairlane Dr in Augusta, KS from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. As her family, we ask for casual dress – Chiefs apparel preferred. Bring a dish, or not, but please stay to dine and share memories of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
