ELMORE, SHERRY LEA, 77, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, with her loving husband and daughter by her side.

Sherry was born on June 10, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas, to Harold and Betty {Jones} Robinson. She was raised in Derby, where she attended school and graduated from Derby High School in 1966. During her school years, Sherry found joy in music, lending her voice to various choirs and creating memories that would stay with her throughout her life.

Following graduation, Sherry began her working career at Boeing. Later, she embraced her most cherished role as a devoted stay-at-home mother, a decision she made about 56 years ago. As her daughter got older, she found herself wanting to earn some extra money, so she started working part-time at local businesses.  She enjoyed spending time with her husband, Lance, with his roofing business, always willing to lend a hand wherever she was needed.

Sherry had a wide range of interests that brought her happiness. She enjoyed quiet days fishing, staying up late and watching scary movies, and the challenge of solving crossword puzzles. In her time at home, she found hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, and decorating bird houses.  One of her greatest creative outlets was painting with acrylics, where she brought to life beautiful scenes of nature and animals with care and detail. She had a great love for all animals, especially the pets she had in her lifetime.  Her latest obsession was with a stray kitten she found on the back porch, Peanut.  Peanut became her little helper along with giving her comfort and laughs.  She had a strong sense of how she liked things to be—often serious, occasionally stubborn—but always grounded in a deep sense of purpose and love for her family.

Above all, Sherry's greatest joy was her family, especially her granddaughter. She treasured every moment spent caring for and being with her, creating a bond filled with love, guidance, and lasting memories.

Sherry is survived by her devoted husband, Lance; her daughter, Wendy Lindenman and her husband Brad; her beloved granddaughter, Kylie Crane and her husband Michael; her mother, Betty; and many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold, and her sister, Connie Gilbert.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Benton Cemetery in Benton, Kansas.

Sherry will be remembered for her quiet strength, her dedication to her family, and the love she gave so freely to those closest to her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
