Per Sheila's wishes, no flowers please; any memorial gifts may be made to two organizations that touched Sheila's heart and further her mission: HumanKind Ministries – Warming Souls, 829 N. Market St., Wichita, Kansas (humankindwichita.org/donate-now); and Holy Savior Catholic Academy, 3000 E. 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas (wichita.igivecatholic.org/organizations/holy-savior-catholic-academy).
Sheila was born on July 16, 1956, to Mark and Marilou (Pauly) Neises. Sheila and her four siblings were raised in Wichita. She attended Bishop Carroll High School, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband, David Ricke. They were married on February 23, 1974, enjoying 48 years of loving marriage. They were blessed with five children and nine grandchildren. Sheila and David raised their family in Rose Hill, Kansas, living in the same home from 1985 to present.
Above all else, Sheila was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Her adoring grandchildren were, as she put it, the "joy of her heart." She was a devout Catholic, utilizing her strong faith and compassion as a relentless advocate for the homeless and others in need. Sheila was heavily involved in the Rose Hill community and beyond, becoming well known for her civic engagement, charitable spirit and daily walks with her husband around town.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Marilou. She is survived by: her husband, David; her five children and their spouses, Daniel and Christina Ricke (Wichita), Melissa Ricke (Rose Hill), Brian and Deambra Ricke (Rose Hill), Andrew and Natalie Ricke (Leawood), and Michelle and Kenton Echterling (Kansas City); three brothers, Mark Rod Neises (Wichita), Randy Neises (Viola) and Scott Neises (Wichita); sister, Peggy Simon (Clearwater); and nine grandchildren, Adrianna, Nate and Tyler Green (Rose Hill), Shae and Devin Ricke (Wichita), Carter Dean and Beckett Kocher (Rose Hill), and Liam and Mila Ricke (Leawood).
