Ruthena Kaye Moutray passed away on July 26, 2022. Kaye was born Mar 2, 1938 in Ashland, KS to James and Ruth "Hink" VanAusdall as one of 3 children. At a young age the family spent time in Newton, Topeka and finally settled in Wichita where Kaye attended North High and graduated Class of 1955. Work ethic shone bright in Kaye at an early age as she was working at Wolf's Cafeteria at the age of 14. Dance was Kaye's greatest passion at an early age and after high school she began teaching dance for Arthur Murray in Las Vegas where she met her future husband. They married in 1963 and later divorced after having three children together. She brought her hard work and career mind as well as her passion for dance back to Wichita and opened Continental School of Dance in the 60's where she continued to teach dance. In 1977 Kaye went to work for Alcon Construction as a temp. She was later hired full time and spent the next 38 years there working her way up to Executive Assistant to the owner until he came to her one day and told her it was time for them to leave together at which point she retired when he did. Kaye loved Jazz music; especially Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder; and especially loved cooking for her family always wanting to have family meals on Sunday for everyone to come over to. Her most precious part of life however was her children, grandchildren; age 33 down to 10; and great grandchildren. Over the years Kaye continually showed them all unconditional love and never missed an event that her grandchildren were part of even though she was still working. Kaye will be remembered as a very witty person with a great sense of humor who loved telling jokes and as somebody who was always very giving and unselfish always making sure that everyone else's needs and wants were taken care of before hers.

Kaye is survived by her children Sean Moutray, Jon Moutray(Yui) and Paige Wells; grandchildren Eric Moutray, Tanner Moutray, Lindsey Wells, Macy Moutray, Logan Wells, Grant Wells, Mallory Wells, Colton Wells, Brayden Moutray and Meyah Moutray; great grandchildren Haleigh Moutray, Noah Moutray and Ember Moutray. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Ruth; sister Melba Dean Zinn; brother James Val VanAusdall and granddaughter Raven Moutray.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 502 W. Central, Andover. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, 417 W. Central, Andover with interment in Resthaven Cemetery.
