ROBERT ROLAND GALLIGHER, SR. "BOB"

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Roland Galligher, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Bob left us peacefully at his home in Rose Hill at the age of 84, after a life filled with adventure, service, and love.

Born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to B.R. and Helen (Moon) Galligher, Bob was the eldest of eleven siblings, leading the way with strength and compassion. His early years in Pawhuska were marked by his love for rodeo, particularly rough stock events like steer wrestling and bull riding. This passion for adventure led him to join the Air Force upon graduating from Pawhuska High School, where he proudly served his country.

Bob's heart found its match when he met Gayle Lachenmyer at the age of 24. The couple wed on July 18, 1964, and embarked on a journey of love and companionship that would last 55 years, until Gayle's passing in 2019. Together, they built a life filled with joy, challenges, and endless memories.

After his service in the Air Force, Bob continued his dedication to precision and excellence as a machinist, working for esteemed companies such as Raytheon and Cessna. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he took pride in his contributions to the aircraft industry.

Bob's love for the outdoors never waned. He found solace and joy in riding horses, fishing, and hunting, but above all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, sharing stories and instilling in them the values of hard work and integrity.

A proud member of the Wichita Intertribal Warrior Society, Bob enjoyed participating in pow wows across the area. His hobbies also included playing bingo and poker, where he was a respected member of the Amateur Poker League.

Bob is survived by his loving children, Karla Galligher, Jana Green, Robert "Bobby" Galligher, Jr., and Roberta Skaggs; his adoring grandchildren, Brandon Buck, Bradley Buck, David Skaggs, Briar Williams, Danica Zimmerman, Wyatt Williams, and Daniel Skaggs; his cherished great-grandchildren, Easton, Destiny, Kellen, Delilah, Kyrie, Braelynn, Brenleigh, Laykyn, David Paul Skaggs III, Kynna, Jordan, and Henry; and his siblings, Scott, Debbie, Donna, Wanda, and Linda. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gayle; his parents, B.R. and Helen; and his siblings, Teddy, Patsy, Nancy, Betty, and Barbara.

Visitation for Bob will be held on Tuesday, February 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 502 W. Central Ave., Andover. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, February 14, at 1:00 p.m. at Towanda Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Gayle.

Bob's legacy is one of love, resilience, and honor. As we remember him, let us celebrate the remarkable life he led and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. His spirit will forever live on in our hearts and memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wichita Intertribal Warrior Society, in honor of Bob's passion and commitment to his heritage and community.
