Robert "Bob" Fulton Gulick, 64 , passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 at Susan B. Allen Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 29, 1960, in Pasadena, California, to J. Michael and Sara (Fulton) Gulick. Robert spent his early childhood in California before his family relocated to Oregon for a brief time, eventually settling in Eureka, Kansas, where he graduated from high school.
Robert demonstrated a strong work ethic from a young age, holding down two jobs at Howard's and the Beacon delivering newspapers while completing his high school education. After graduating, he proudly entered the U.S. Navy, but his service was cut short due to a medical discharge. He later pursued some college courses before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he began a long and successful career with the Hilton. Robert held several key positions, including guest assistance, a member of the Honors Service Center, and operations supervisor, roles that took him around the world and allowed him to meet and connect with people from all walks of life.
Robert was known for his sharp mind and many talents. An avid reader and a true history buff, he had an incredible memory and a deep thirst for knowledge. He was a passionate sports fan, especially devoted to KU Jayhawk basketball and Kansas City Chiefs football. Robert had the gift of conversation and could easily engage with anyone, leaving a lasting impression with his warmth, humor, and joyful spirit.
Robert is survived by his father, J. Michael (Terry) Gulick; siblings, Michelle Applegate (Mike), Ray Gulick (Teresa), Shana Warren (Jul), and Roger Gulick; stepbrothers, Steven Gulick (Bea), Dustin Gulick, and Kyle Gulick; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara; his sister, Suzi; and his maternal grandmother, Maren Fulton.
Robert's life was one of curiosity, kindness, and connection. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. There will be a celebration of life on March 29th 2025. Come and go between 1 & 4 located at Deer Grove Park 2873 S.E. US HWY 54 El Dorado, KS 67042.
