MILLER, ROBERT EUGENE "BOB", 77 , passed away peacefully at his home on June 9, 2024, with his loving wife Janice by his side. Bob was born on July 8, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas, to Harold Eugene and Vera Mae (Shutterly) Miller.
Bob attended East High and graduated from Ponca Military Academy in 1964. Following his graduation, he served his country honorably in the Navy. After his military service, Bob returned to Wichita, where he began a long and successful career at Boeing as a machinist and later a manager. He dedicated 32 years to the company, retiring in the early 2000s.
In the summer of 1967, Bob met the love of his life, Janice Hadley, while cruising Douglas. They married in December of the same year and embarked on a 50+ year journey filled with love, adventure, and travel. Bob and Janice were avid RV enthusiasts, practically inventing the "glamping" lifestyle with their beloved 5th wheel. They wintered in Texas for many years, where Bob's heart found a second home as a "Texan."
Around the age of 60, Bob discovered a passion for motorcycles and became an active member of the ElectraGlide Elite in the Shrine. His dedication to the Midian Shrine was unwavering, and he served as a Grand Master and an active member of the Blue Lodge.
Bob was a true Renaissance Man, with a deep appreciation for new technology and gadgets, always eager to have the latest Apple product. His talents extended to woodworking, where he crafted many beautiful pieces of furniture, including rocking chairs, toy boxes, and bunk beds for his beloved nieces and nephews.
Known for his social nature, Bob loved sharing stories and listening to others. He brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. His life was marked by a spirit of adventure, always on the move, and filled with countless memorable moments.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Janice; his sister, Marlene Afton; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Vera, and his sister, Margie Sue Arnott.
Bob Miller will be remembered for living a full and eventful life, filled with love, adventure, and an unyielding zest for life. His legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and camaraderie will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
