Rene Prieto 38, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Wichita, KS surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Abundant Harvest Church of the Nazarene,
H e was born July 28, 1980 in Scott City, KS and grew up in Satanta, KS where he graduated in 1999. While in high school, he participated in football, powerlifting, track and baseball. He then attended Garden City Community College where he received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. It is during this time that he met the love of his life, the former, Katie Jo Crotinger.
O n November 8, 2003 , he married Katie in Cimarron, KS. They moved to Pratt, KS in 2013 and together they were blessed with two beautiful young ladies Kendra Rene Prieto and Morgan Riley Prieto. He valued being a part of his church and enjoyed being on the open road on his street bike, power lifting, being with family and was an avid Atlanta Braves and Dallas Cowboys fan.
H e is survived by his loving wife, Katie Jo Crotinger Prieto, two loving daughters Kendra Rene Prieto and Morgan Riley Prieto, his mother Isabell Castaneda of Sublette, KS, father Frank Prieto of Ulysses, KS, six brothers; Mark Anthony Torres of Godley, TX, Augustine Prieto of Fort Benning, GA, Norberto Holguin of Midland, TX, Conrrado Holguin and Emmanuel Holguin of Garden City, KS, Saul Castaneda of Sublette, KS and four sisters; Veronica Prieto-Nevarez and Sandra Prieto of Liberal, Kansas and Monique and Raquel Castaneda of Sublette, KS. Rene also leaves behind 18 nephews and 14 nieces.
H e was preceded in death by four grandparents and his younger brother Luis Holguin .
