Phyllis "Suzie"
Virginia Kiddoo
May 22, 1940 — November 19, 2024
Wichita
"Suzie" (Phyllis Virginia) Kiddoo , a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on May 22, 1940, in El Dorado, Kansas, Suzie was the cherished daughter of Howard and Helen Love.
Suzie spent her formative years in El Dorado, where she graduated from El Dorado High School. She excelled academically, particularly in Spanish, a skill that would prove ironically mismatched when her life's journey with her husband, "Matt" (Albert M.) Kiddoo, began. Matt, the love of her life, swept her off her feet, and on April 13, 1959, they were married at Park Avenue Church in El Dorado. Together they embarked on a life of adventure, courtesy of Matt's military career. Their travels took them to France—where her Spanish proficiency met a French-speaking world—Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, New Mexico, Guam, Florida, West Germany and ultimately back to settle in Wichita, Kansas. Suzie embraced her role as a dedicated military wife, navigating life's moves with grace and resilience.
In Wichita, Suzie found her spiritual home at Grace Baptist Church, where she flourished as a devoted member. For 27 years, she faithfully served as an AWANA teacher, sharing her warmth, wisdom, and love of God with countless children.
Suzie was a true homemaker, known for her kind heart and compassionate spirit. She found joy in the small pleasures of life—keeping up with her favorite soap operas, hockey games, love of cooking, dining out, and collecting anything with teddy bears on it and other cherished mementos. Her vibrant personality shone through in her love of storytelling, and she was known to bring smiles and laughter to those around her.
Nothing brought Suzie more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. She had a soft spot for Pomeranians, having had many through-out her life.
Suzie was preceded in death by her parents, Howard C. Love and Helen B. (Broadbent) Love; her beloved husband, Matt (Albert M.) Kiddoo; and her sister, Marilyn Aaroe. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, Susan D. Butler, Patricia K. Liebham, and Albert M. Kiddoo Jr; her sister, Dianna Britting ; her grandchildren, Jason, Katie, Melissa, James, and Tia; and her great-grandchildren, Delancy, Dean, Andrea, Kasen, Angel, and Aela.
Suzie's life was a testament to kindness, faith, and devotion. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
