MELENEY, PATRICIA RAE, 87, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, at Homestead of Augusta. Born on August 11, 1936, in Mason City, Iowa, to Raymond and Edith (Rusley) Nugent, Patricia led a life marked by devotion to her family, faith, and community. Patricia attended Holy Family School, graduating in 1954. She then began her career with Northwestern Bell, where she worked until her marriage in 1956. After marrying, Patricia dedicated 16 years to raising her children, cherishing her role as a mother above all.
When her children were older, Patricia resumed her career with Northwestern Bell in Mason City before transferring to Ankeny, Iowa, in 1978. She continued her diligent work there until the office closed in 1993. Patricia then transferred to Pueblo, Colorado, where she completed her career, retiring in 2001.
A woman of deep faith, Patricia loved traveling both abroad and within the United States to visit family. She was an active volunteer for her church in Pueblo, reflecting her strong belief that God and family were paramount. Patricia adored the mountains and was known for her wonderful sense of humor. She lived a simple, God-serving, and family-loving life.
Patricia is survived by her daughters Linda Cradduck (Donald), Karen Pinegar, Carolyn Strain (Myron), and Michele White (Brian); her grandchildren David Cradduck, Mark Cradduck, Jennifer Peters, Sean Pinegar, Stephen Pinegar, Christopher Schoborg, Brandon Meleney, Justin DeLancey, Jonathan White, Daniel White, and Matthew White; 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also remembered fondly by many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Edith, her sister Phyllis Kanzenbach, her niece Diane Kanzenbach, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A rosary service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 123 N. Andover Rd., Andover, with a Memorial Mass immediately following at 10:30 a.m. Patricia will be laid to rest at Bruno Township Cemetery in Andover.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Patricia's memory. Her love, faith, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
