STUENKEL, PATRICIA ANNE "PAT" , 86, passed away on April 29, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Pat was born in Reading, KS on December 15, 1934 to Emmett and Francis "Rippert" Magathan and attended the one room schoolhouse in Clements; often riding her pony to school. She then began college at Emporia Teacher's College. On December 20, 1952 Pat's dad sponsored a dance that would change her life as she met William "Bill" Stuenkel there; they were to be married in Emporia on August 31, 1953. However, Bill's military leave got cancelled. He didn't know until 5 o'clock that he was getting married at 6 o'clock in Fort Polk Louisiana on August 31. After they married, Pat worked for the Post Engineers Group until 1958 and then was a stay at home mom. She raised her children and took care of other neighborhood families' children. In 1969, she was hired as the only employee for the city of Andover as the City Clerk and soon held a double position as not only the Clerk but also the City Administrator until she retired in 1997. During her time, Pat oversaw the new sewage plant as well as handled the Andover Tornado, working with FEMA and the many other agencies involved with cleanup. Her tenure was so well storied with the City of Andover that upon retirement they named the street into 13th Street City Park, Patricia Lane.  When Pat retired, Bill and her enjoyed traveling, especially their Alaskan Adventures and their time wintering in McAllen, Texas. She enjoyed camping, the neighborhood bridge club, bowling with their Wednesday night league and especially square dancing with the Andover Wheeler Dealers that her, Bill and others started. The Square dancers met at the original Andover Elementary School. She loved her irises and being in her garden and especially coaching and attending her children's and grandchildren's sports events.

P at is survived by her husband William "Bill"; children Barbara Minton(Sam), William Stuenkel, Teresa Sexson(William) and Janet Filbert(David);  grandchildren Misty Hinton(Dylan), Brandon Minton(Jill), Jordan Stuenkel, Ian Jones, Angelisa Sexson, Brady Sexson(Michelle), Andrew Filbert(Karissa) and Matt Filbert(Sarah); great grandchildren Maci and Chase Minton, Camden and Cooper Hinton, Hailey and Riley Filbert; sister-in-laws, Lorena Magathan and Paula Bliss; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
