Oma Lee
Cleveland
January 31, 1940 — June 19, 2024
Towanda
CLEVELAND, OMA LEE, 84 , beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024. Born in Commerce, Oklahoma, to Orville and Audrey Allman, Oma was a bright and spirited individual from an early age. She attended school alongside Mickey Mantle's brother and sister, excelling academically and earning a place in the prestigious Honor Society. Her talents extended beyond academics; she was skilled in sewing and home economics, winning a prize for one of her beautiful dresses in a contest.
After graduating from high school, Oma married her high school sweetheart, John Cleveland, at the age of 17, with the blessing of their parents. Together, they embarked on a lifelong journey, building a loving family and welcoming four children into their hearts and home.
Oma was deeply devoted to her church, serving faithfully in various roles such as Nursery, Vacation Bible School, Funeral services, the Food Bank, and organizing quarterly dinners. Her dedication to her faith and her community was evident in every church she attended.
An avid gardener and meticulous housekeeper, Oma took great pride in her home. Her strong will and sense of humor were legendary; if something didn't meet her standards, it might find itself burning in the front yard. Oma had a unique gift for conversation, drawing even the most reluctant individuals into engaging discussions.
Oma is survived by her loving husband, John Cleveland; her children, Britt (Edna) Cleveland, Kirk (Robin) Cleveland, and Tammy (Bryan) Gardner; her siblings, Donald Allman, Ronald Allman, and Jane Dillion; as well as six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Greg Cleveland. Her legacy of love, dedication, and spirited conversation will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 206 E. Central Ave., El Dorado with Pastor Tom Boerma presiding.
Memorial donations may be made in Oma's memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E Rockhill St #403, Wichita, KS 67206.
