Norma Ethel
Watts
February 24, 1940 — March 3, 2025
Andover
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Norma Ethel Watts, a woman whose kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to family and community left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Norma, 85, passed away peacefully at Wesley Medical Center with her beloved family by her side, a testament to the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
Born on February 24, 1940, in Enid, OK, to Christopher "Earl" and Ruth Rachel (VanMeter) Fisher, Norma grew up surrounded by love and family. She graduated from Enid High School in 1958 and soon embarked on a life filled with purpose, family, and service. Norma's path led her to become a devoted mother, raising her children with boundless love. Her journey took a beautiful turn when she met the love of her life, Kenneth Watts. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and dedication to those around them.
Norma's heart was always open, especially to children. For 30 years, she lovingly ran a daycare, treating each child as her own and leaving an everlasting impact on countless young lives. Many of her daycare children, now grown, would return to visit "Grandma" Norma, expressing their gratitude for the warmth and kindness she showed them. Her love for children extended beyond family and work, as she also found joy in serving her church family. Norma was an active and devoted member of Faith Baptist Church, always willing to lend a helping hand, prepare meals, and contribute wherever needed.
In addition to her role as a caregiver and nurturer, Norma dedicated much of her time to the Andover Senior Center, where she served as the Executive Director, providing support and companionship to many. When she wasn't giving her time to others, Norma found joy in the simple pleasures of life—sewing, needlework, cooking, and baking. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, filled with the scent of homemade meals and the sound of laughter from her beloved family.
Norma's generous and social nature made her a cherished friend to many. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, and be there for those in need. Her family was the center of her world, and she showered her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with unconditional love and support.
She is survived by her children April (Mick), Teresa (Jack), and Cheryl (Tim); her dear sister Pat (Tom); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren other cherished family members, and friends. She now joins in eternal rest those who passed before her: her parents Christopher and Ruth, her beloved husband Kenneth, her children Ronnie, Virgil, Richard, and Kelly, and her sisters Mildred and Collieen.
Norma's life will be honored with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church, 417 W. Central Ave., Andover. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest beside Kenneth at Bruno Township Cemetery in Andover.
In remembrance of Norma's loving and giving spirit, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Faith Baptist Church, 417 W. Central Ave., Andover.
Norma Ethel Watts lived a life full of love, faith, and generosity. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, sweet Granny
