Nash Logan
Johnston
April 13, 2007 — May 24, 2022
Wichita
JOHNSTON, NASH LOGAN, 15 , East High Freshman, passed away on May 24, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Nash was born on April 13, 2007 at Baylor Hospital in Grapevine, Texas to Loyd Johnston and Mary Ann Gifford. In September 2015 Nash moved back home with his dad and mom, Loyd and Trisha Johnston, and attended Price Harris Elementary. He was a very shy, quiet and reserved young man when he first came home. He attended Coleman Middle School, where he got his first taste of music and band; starting with the flute and then the saxophone in 7 th grade Jazz Band. Band helped bring Nash out of his shell and he continued to play flute and sax through 7 th and 8 th grade; getting 2 nd place at his first solo ensemble competition. As Nash went into high school at East High he joined the JROTC and also continued playing in the band. Becoming a Cadet Tech Sgt in JROTC, Nash was heavily involved in Leadership and Drill Team. East High's AVID program was something Nash was very active in after applying for and being recommended by a teacher for the program. Nash was very involved with his Youth Group at Sharon Baptist Church and loved volunteering there in the kitchen, where he was able to use his love of cooking to serve others. Nash was a very smart young man in Honors English and Honors World History and was looking forward to the future that he had planned out, starting with joining the military. Lending a hand was another of Nash's positive characteristics and he was always available to help anyone no matter who you were. What Nash loved most of all was spending time with his nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Nash is survived by his dad and mom Loyd and Trisha Johnston; mother Mary Ann Gifford; siblings Hayley Johnston, Blaik Johnston, Daelyn Johnston, Ariana Price, Jonathan Thomas, Zach Foster, Tyler Foster and Erik Roberts; grandma Patty Johnston(Bill Smith); lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family, friends and a zoo full of pets. He was preceded in death by a sister Alissa Foster and grandpa Richard(Dick) Johnston.
