Michael Allen Baker, 69, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was born on June 21, 1956, in El Dorado, to Russell Eugene Baker and Patsy Baker.
Michael spent his early years in Rosalia before his family later moved to El Dorado, where he completed his education and graduated from high school. Soon after graduation, he began working in the oil field industry. Through hard work, long hours, and determination, Michael earned his journeyman's license, allowing him to work for several companies throughout his career. In 1990, he took a leap of faith and started his own business, B&B Electric Inc., dedicating himself tirelessly to making it successful and providing for his family for 36 years.
Away from work, Michael truly enjoyed life. He loved fishing, bowling, cheering on KU Basketball, and never missing a chance to support the Kansas City Chiefs. Yet nothing brought him greater joy than his grandchildren. Whether it was a school activity, sporting event, or special occasion, Michael always made time to be there for them. He also enjoyed stopping at garage sales, often bringing home treasures or items he believed might someday be useful.
Michael had a lighthearted spirit and rarely took life too seriously. He was known for always being willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Generous by nature, he gave freely without ever expecting anything in return. He also had a deep love for animals and a heart that welcomed both people and pets alike. His kindness, humor, and giving spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Baker; his children, Nathan (Chelsea) Baker, Nevin Baker, Michael Greer, Natalie Baker, and Melissa Sharp; his siblings, Russell Baker, Eddie Baker, Marsha Armstrong, and Sandra McClune; and his cherished grandchildren, Raegan Mitchell, Rylee Mitchell, Oliver Mitchell, Avery Mitchell, Noah Baker, Bella Baker, Lilli Baker, Adalynn Greer, Justi Vinson, and Emma Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Baker, Patsy Baker, and Ann Wallace; his brother, Bill Baker; and his stepbrothers, Zack Lamb, Mike Lamb, and Mark Lamb.
Michael's legacy of hard work, generosity, laughter, and love for family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
