ROSE, MARY FRANCES, 78 , passed away on March 29, 2022, at her home in Rose Hill, Kansas. Mary was born the youngest of seven in Newport, Arkansas on January 27, 1944, to Ernest and Goldie-Birdie (Hall) Williams.

A t a young age the family moved to Lansing, Michigan where Mary attended and graduated high school. Mary held various waitress jobs after school and also attended beauty school. She lived in Tennessee where she met and married Jack Arthur Besen, Sr. in 1962. Jack and Mary had three children, Shelley born in 1963 in Norfolk, Virginia; Ted born in 1964 in Lansing, Michigan and Jack born in 1966 in Omaha, Nebraska. Jack, Sr. and Mary divorced in 1975. Mary later met Richard Rose while living in Rancho Cordova, California. They were married in 1979 in Reno, Nevada. They moved and lived in Lake Tahoe for six years and ran a coin shop. They moved back to Orange Grove, California and later lived in many places including Tennessee, Oregon and back to California before relocating to Derby, Kansas and then Rose Hill, Kansas. For quite a few years Mary was a server and manager for various restaurants. She then worked at Wal-Mart for many years before retiring. Mary was very outgoing, ornery and had a very spunky personality. She loved spending time with her family including several grandchildren. Mary's favorite hobbies were being outside enjoying the sunshine and watching the birds and butterflies and she really enjoyed ceramics and painting.

M ary is survived by her husband Richard, children Shelley Hepner, Theodor Besen and Jack Besen, Jr. (Deanne); grandchildren Megan Clifton, Ryan Clifton, Michael Concha, James Besen, Lance Besen, Natasia Timme, Magen Besen and Sabrina Besen, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings and her first husband
Jack.
