HODGSON, MARY LUCILLE BENNETT, 90 , of Andover, died peacefully Wednesday, December 19, 2018. She was born October 30, 1928 in Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Layton Bennett and O.O. "Jack" Bennett, her sister Alleen Barnett, and her son Jack McNair. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Hodgson, daughters Linda Rials of Lampasas, TX, Amy Smith(Brad) of Wichita, KS, sons Richard Hodgson(Lori) of Chapman, KS, John Hodgson(Veronica) of Lawton, OK, Thomas Hodgson(Erin) of Columbus, GA, and Terrell Hodgson(Lysa) of Aberdeen, NC. She had 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, all of whom were her joy in life.

M ary Lou, as she was known, graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She lived in Orangeburg, SC for 30 years and had many friends there.  She worked as a school librarian at Nix Elementary School and volunteered at the Orangeburg County Library.  She was on the Salvation Army Board and was a founding member of the Princess of Orange Miniature Society.  In 2000 she and David retired to Decatur, TX, where she became a Paul Harris Fellow of the Decatur Rotary Club, which she loved.  She attended the Silver Sneaker exercise class every day at the Fit-N-Wise Center and had many friends there.  Her very favorite activity was the Saturday morning breakfasts with the Wise County Veterans' Association with David, a Korean War veteran.  She loved all the veterans and their wives, and the staff at the Decatur Conference Center.  In 2016 Mary Lou and David moved to Wichita, KS, where she brought joy to all who knew her.  Her loss will be deeply felt by everyone she knew.
