Martha A .(Scheck) Stanphill, age 88 , passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Martha was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Paul and Bertha (Spitznogle) Scheck. She grew up in Madison, Kansas and after graduation she moved to El Dorado, Kansas where she met Jimmy Stanphill.

Martha and Jim were united in marriage on June 25, 1960 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They celebrated their 61 ^st anniversary this past summer.

Martha took great pride in being a homemaker and mother. She later returned to working in the dry cleaning business once the girls were in high school. Martha loved playing bingo and going to the casino with her husband, Jim. She enjoyed being involved in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, working out in the yard, sewing, crocheting, spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Jim and three daughters, Theresa Stanphill of El Dorado, Vickie Maloney of Wichita, and Cindy Newell (Patrick) of Salina, eight grandchildren; Elissa Failes, Jeffrey Failes, Zach Maloney, Trevor Maloney Abby Maloney, Hunter Newell, Luke Newell, Ethan Newell and 1 great granddaughter, Mia Maloney.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and a niece.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at Heritage Funeral Home, 206 E. Central, El Dorado, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Legion Ladies Auxiliary college scholarship fund which can be left with Heritage Funeral Home.
