EL DORADO

GILLIS, MARK ALLEN, passed away at a Topeka Hospital following an automobile accident. Mark was born in El Dorado, KS, attended school at Towanda grade school and was a 1978 graduate of Circle High School. Mark worked Road Construction most of his adult life and worked as a finish carpenter. He joined his mom(Susie) at Susie's Chili Parlor cooking breakfast for many people of El Dorado. He had a passion for cooking but one of his greatest joys was fishing; many times one would see Mark on his way to the lake with 10 fishing poles hanging from the back of his ranger. He will be greatly missed.

M ark is survived by his parents Chuck and Susie Gillis of El Dorado; siblings Mechile Davis(Craig) of Scranton, KS, Judy Banks(Scott) of El Dorado, KS, and Brad Gillis(Lorra) of El Dorado, KS; 3 children Crystal, Kate and Colin; several grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his brother Brian on October 16, 2017.

T here will be a private family gathering and memorial donations may be made to Heritage Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
