Marie Helene
Mosier
April 9, 1940 — May 12, 2026
Towanda
Marie Helene (Pajor) Mosier, 86 , of Towanda, KS went to be with the Lord on May 12th, 2026, almost 4 years to the day of her husband Norman's passing in 2022. Marie suffered a massive stroke that led to 6 days in the ICU and 5 days of hospice before she passed away.
Marie was born in Maxeville, France on April 9th, 1940 to Jean Pajor and Stanislawa (Juszczak) Pajor. From the very beginning, her life was filled with hardship and extreme poverty as her family struggled to survive in Occupied France near the end of World War II. She was the youngest of six siblings, four brothers and one sister. Marie often told stories of her childhood in France. Her lengthy tales, which famously started with "to make a long story short", will most definitely be lovingly passed down for generations to come.
Marie met Norman while he was serving in the U.S. Army in France. While she was working at the base, she began teaching herself English from a book and practiced her fluency with the soldiers. Soon she and Norman fell in love and married on April 28th, 1962. They were blessed with a wonderful marriage and celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2022, two weeks prior to Norman's passing.
After Norman's military service ended, they moved to Towanda, KS, Norman's hometown where they lived for 7 years. During that time, they both surrendered their lives to Christ and became born again Christians on May 4th, 1966. They entered into full time ministry where Norman attended Arizona Bible College in Phoenix, AZ and then moved to KC, MO where he finished his degree at Calvary Bible College in 1974. Marie served as a faithful pastor's wife at New Testament Baptist Church in Paola, KS and later as a missionary in Northhampton, England for 5 years. She continued her dedication as a pastor's wife in KC, KS at Cornerstone Baptist Church and later at Fairview Baptist Church in Towanda, KS for 6 years. Later the Lord led them to Calvary Baptist Church in Derby, KS for 15 years and finally to Freedom Bible Fellowship in Benton, KS.
She is survived by her oldest daughter, Cindy Walthers (Louis); her son, Sheldon Mosier (Shawna); and her youngest daughter, Jody Mosier. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Loss (Caleb), Michael Walthers (Kristen), Melissa Meeks (Kale), Megan Whitener (Zach), Mark Walthers (Amber), Carson Mosier (Jessie), and Caris Bixenman (Tyler), as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
She was an avid student of God's Word and listening to Grace to You with her favorite preacher John MacArthur. She loved going to garage sales, thrift stores and anything with the word "clearance" attached to it. She had a lively personality and was never afraid to share her opinion. Most of all, she would want to be remembered for her passion of sharing the gospel with everyone she met. Marie's prominent French accent became a gateway to many vibrant spiritual discussions. If you knew Marie, you knew her main purpose in life was to tell of Christ's saving work in her own life and to point others to true repentance and faith in Christ alone. She loved the Lord above all, loved her family dearly, and was a faithful prayer warrior till the end. She will be greatly missed.
