LOUIS ALLYN HARPER, SR., 98 , of Andover, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025. He was born on June 25, 1927, in Coates, Kansas, to Millard and Thelma Harper. Louis spent most of his youth in Wichita, where he graduated from East High School. Following graduation, he began his military journey at Camp Roberts in California. His dedication to service continued through ROTC, where he earned his bachelor's degree and laid the foundation for a life marked by commitment, hard work, and leadership.

After completing his studies, Louis began working in the aircraft industry, where fate introduced him to Eloyce—the love of his life. They soon married and began building their life together. With guidance from his father-in-law, Louis moved to Santa Barbara, California, where the two founded a business that steadily grew into a thriving enterprise. Their success was not just measured in numbers but in relationships; Louis and his father-in-law made sure their customers knew they were appreciated—often hosting barbecue dinners as a heartfelt thank-you.

A man of many passions, Louis earned his pilot's license and enjoyed taking to the skies in his free time. Family, however, remained at the center of his world. He was deeply involved in his children's lives—attending school events, football games, and joining the local YMCA's Indian Guides program, where he proudly held the title of Chief Wild Eagle.

As the business flourished, Thermal Products eventually acquired the company, and Louis continued to lend his expertise until his well-earned retirement. Afterward, he and Eloyce returned to Andover, settling on the family property. There, he spent his days doing what he loved—working alongside his son, tending to the land, caring for animals, and enjoying the peace of home.

Louis was known for his fun-loving spirit, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. Even in later years, he cherished meeting regularly with his fraternity brothers over coffee, sharing stories and laughter that spanned decades.

He is survived by his children, Louis Harper, Jr., and Lou Anne Johnson (Larry); grandchildren, Caitlin, Matthew Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Victoria Deaver, and Kelton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Thelma Harper; his beloved wife, Eloyce; his brother, Harold Harper; and his sister, Doris Wine.

Louis Harper, Sr. will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend—an honorable man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting legacy of kindness and integrity.
