TRUPE, LLOYD LEROY, 85 , passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at Wheatstate in Whitewater, surrounded by the love of his family.

Lloyd was born on April 3, 1940, in Havelock, Iowa, to Harry and Eleanora (Brieholtz) Trupe. When he was young, the family moved to Rolfe, Iowa, where Lloyd grew up in a close-knit community and graduated from Rolfe High School in a small but spirited class. During his school years, Lloyd enjoyed playing football, building the kind of determination and teamwork that would stay with him throughout his life.

After high school, Lloyd married the love of his life, Sherry Wadsley. Together, they moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where they began building a life and a family. They were blessed with two daughters, Christine and Shelly, who would forever be the pride and joy of their lives. Lloyd worked hard to provide for his family, spending many years at Iowa Beef. His dedication and strong work ethic allowed him to retire early, at the age of 52.

Retirement didn't mean slowing down for Lloyd. He and Sherry moved to El Dorado, Kansas, where they built a new chapter together, investing in rental properties and starting a lawn care business. The two of them worked side-by-side, sharing not only the responsibilities but also the joy of building something together.

Lloyd had a lifelong love for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were two of his greatest pleasures, giving him countless hours of peace and connection with nature. He also had a passion for cars—especially classic ones. His favorite was the 1963 Chevy Impala hardtop, a car that reflected his love of speed, style, and the craftsmanship of a bygone era.
Family was always at the center of Lloyd's heart. He loved keeping up with the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and he found joy in every gathering, story, and laugh they shared.

Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Christine McWaters and Shelly Razo; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Sandvig; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Eleanora; his beloved wife, Sherry; his sister, Ilene Rude; and his brother, Francis Trupe.

A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.  to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 17, 2025, and the funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2025, both at Heritage Funeral Home, 206 E. Central Ave., El Dorado. Interment will follow at Sunset Lawns, where Lloyd will be laid to rest next to his beloved Sherry, forever reunited.

Lloyd's life was defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a love of the simple joys—whether it was a day spent fishing, the thrill of a fast car, or the laughter of those he loved. His memory will live on in the stories told, the traditions kept, and the love he gave so freely.
