Linda Diane "Whitford" Lytle , a devoted mother, army veteran, and steadfast believer in the power of faith and family, passed away on October 18, 2023, at her home in Ponca City. She was 71 years old.


Linda was born on August 29, 1952, in Newton, Kansas, to her loving parents, Glenn Curtis and Alice "Virginia" {Crane} Whitford. She graduated from South High School in 1970 and embarked on an educational journey that would ultimately lead her to earning an Associates Degree in Computer Programming.


Linda's spirit of service and patriotism led her to join the United States Army on October 20, 1973. She valiantly served during the Vietnam era until July 26, 1974 when she was honorably discharged due to her pregnancy, a testament to her dedication to both her country and her growing family.


After her military service, Linda dedicated herself to the workforce, serving as a diligent employee of Southwest Texas State University for 11 years. Her role involved data entry work, a testament to her commitment and precision in all she pursued.
Above all else, Linda held her spirituality and faith dear to her heart. Throughout her life, she sought solace and inspiration from various churches, including Feast of Life and the Salvation Army. Her unwavering devotion to her beliefs was a guiding light for those fortunate to know her.


Linda's greatest passion and source of boundless love and joy were her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, nurturing and supporting her children and grandchildren with unmatched love and kindness. Her children, Christopher R. Lytle, Brian D. Lytle, Elizabeth "Lisa" Bolster, and Mary Lin Diggs, were her pride and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and enduring memories for her ten cherished grandchildren.


Linda Diane "Whitford" Lytle will be remembered for her unwavering love, her commitment to faith, and her dedication to her family. Her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever be cherished.
