Lawrence Dean Matkin , age 62, resident of Andover, Kansas died Thursday April 27 ^th at his home. He was born February 14, 1961, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas. He was the son of William Lewis and Donna Sue Matkin.

Larry was a member of the Fort Scott High School Class of 1979.

Larry married Cheryl Ann Frame on July 5 ^th , 1980 at the Assembly of God Church in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Survivors include daughters Jennifer Matkin, Libby Matkin, and son Adam Matkin, all of the home and son Pate Matthews of Andover. Also surviving is a cherished grand-daughter Autumn Matkin. Larry is also survived by brothers Kenton (Jolene) and Brad (Tammy), both of Fort Scott. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Larry worked for Cargill in Wichita, Kansas for over 18 years. He was an avid fisherman, KU Fan, Kansas City Chiefs fan, a fan of old school Westerns and detective shows on television. He loved to bowl with his dad and enjoyed playing pool in his younger years. His greatest joy was his family and his church family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pastor Steven Bishop will conduct a "Celebration of Life" for Lawrence Dean Matkin on Saturday May 6 ^th , 2023 at 10:00am at Generations Church in Andover, Kansas. There will be a "Celebrations of Life" in his hometown of Fort Scott at a later date.
