Crisp, Lawrence Eugene, 83 , passed away at his residence in Madison on May 15, 2022.

L awrence was born to Dean Hollingsworth and Helen Copper (Hancock) Crisp in Emporia, Kansas on May 1, 1939. He wnt to Toledo High School where he ran track (and went to state), graduating in 1957.

After Graduating, Lawrence joined the Air Force and was stationed in Long Beach, New Jersey. After his time in the service, he worked for International Diesel and the later for Farmer's Insurance Group, in Azusa, CA.

O n April 15, 1962 Lawrence married Mary Justina Groundwater and four children resulted from this union: Kenny, born 1963; Keith, born 1965; Kirk, born 1972; and Kathy, born 1976.

L awrence was a man of varying interests and tastes, including trains, aquariums, history (he was a PBS afficionado), fishing/camping (especially with his uncle), and motorcycle offroading (until he broke his collarbone).

L awrence is survived by children Kenneth "Kenny" of the home, Kirk (Mindi) of Augusta, KS; Aron (Kathy) Watkins of Allen, KS; grandchild Corbin Watkins, also of Allen KS; brother Rick (Linda) Crisp of Emporia; cousin Barbara (Al) Robison of Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

L awrence is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Crisp; parents, Dean Hollingsworth and Helen (Hancock) Crisp; son Keith Crisp, and brother Jim Crisp.
