Larry Wayne Jones 79 , Was born on February 23, 1941 to Harry L. and Ruth V.( Ebel) Jones, in Hillsboro ,Ks. He passed away on December 22, 2020 in his home in Haysville, Ks with his family surrounding him with love a nd letting him know that they were there.  He has 4 siblings 2 sisters, Helen Black, Joann Fox. 2 brothers Donnie and Dennis Jones. As he got older he worked for Sedgewick County, Dobbs in the airport, Meadowlark drive inn, & Haysville, Ks USD 261 school district, where he retired from in 2003. He also worked for Central usd 465 from 2011-2015. He married Patricia Church on August 30 th of 1986, At the Bridgeport Baptist Church, By Rev. John E. Moses Sr.  They met in 1972, they were neighbors. They later on welcomed a little bundle of joy, Shawn Ryan Jones on November 26, 1986 in Wichita, KS at St. Joseph hospital. He has three other sons from a previous marriage their names are Bobby of Las Vegas Nevada, Ronald and Michael Jones of Wichita, KS.

H e is preceded in death by his mom and dad, his grandparents, his brother Donnie, his niece Rita Kay and many other family members. He is survived by his wife Patricia of Haysville, Ks, son Shawn (Audrey) Jones, grandkids Thomas, Renee` and Ryan Jones of Wichita, Ks. His other three sons as well.  Along with his sisters Helen, Joann and his brother Dennis. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces and great great nephews.

W hen he was a child, his sister Helen, used to make him play with paper dolls. They grew up in Oaklawn and would be gone all day and all night until the street lights  came on, playing games outside, hide & seek, playing kick the can. They made a fort in the forest behind their house and dug a hole under their fort. He and his siblings would skip school & go to the fort instead at times. They would go to dances at the filling stations on  the weekend. At the farm in Texas the kids would herd cattle on the road so they could find food to eat, we would climb trees and the boys would have to help Joann down out of the trees. All of the siblings liked to climb into the haystacks in front of the house & look at the stars. Overall, Larry and his siblings had a childhood filled with a lot of playing & adventure.

L ater in life  he loved to play his card games with his family an friends.  Donald (Donnie)  Crable,  aka pops used to come over a lot and they would play for hours. His brother Dennis & him as well would play all the time and bicker back and forth on who won and who didn't. Or  who's turn it was  or what card to play. He loved "going south" (to the casinos).  He used to go fishing as well until he got too old or the heat would get to him as he got older. He went camping as well with his family there for a while as well. When his grandkids came along he had been all about them babies Ryan he used to call his Dutchman because he would speak so fast an he was a grandpa boy, his sister Susie aka Renee` that girl had grandpa wrapped around her finger since birth. That is his princess. Thomas he loved that boy just as his own never treated him different after he saw we weren't going no where.  He loved him so much an never missed anything that had to go on with his schooling or appointments.

S ervices will be held on Tuesday, December 29 th at 1:00 pm at Bridgeport Missionary Baptist Church at 6161 S. Meridian Ave in Haysville, Kansas, followed by Graveside services at Resthaven Cemetery.
