BRICKLEY, LARRY ALLEN, 74 , beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 19, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and laughter. He was born on December 3, 1949, to proud parents Gail and Betty Brickley in El Dorado, Kansas.
From a young age, Larry showcased his musical talent, particularly with the bass guitar, earning himself a coveted spot in the local band, The Illusions. Following his passion for music, he embarked on a journey into the world of auto painting and restoration, starting his career at Steve's Frame and Body shortly after completing his schooling. His dedication and skill in his craft led him to spend his entire career there, eventually retiring after years of service.
Even in retirement, Larry's vibrant spirit never waned. Whether he was casting lines while fishing, trying his luck at the casino, or keeping busy with various projects, he embraced life with enthusiasm and zest. He was known for his outgoing nature, quick wit, and an endless arsenal of jokes that could brighten anyone's day.
Above all else, Larry was a devoted family man who fiercely protected and supported his loved ones. His daughters, Shanna Brickley and Shi Ann Scott, held a special place in his heart, as did his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Larry's memory will forever be cherished by his daughters, grandchildren: Shantell Moyet (and husband Juan), Marissa Glover, Miranda Glover, Hailee Irvin, Shakelia Brickley, Shawn "Fatty" Smith, Serenity Oliver, Alontae Oliver, and his ten great-grandchildren.
Larry Brickley was preceded in death by his parents, Gail and Betty Brickley, and his brother, Ron Brickley. While he may no longer be with us in person, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In honoring Larry's memory, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the laughter he shared with us all. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
