Julie Ann (Gilbert) Clopton, 64 , of Andover, KS, passed away on November 29, 2020, after living a life full of love.
Julie was born on October 5, 1956 to Hardy and Lucille Gilbert in Wichita, KS at Wesley Hospital. She graduated from Andover High School in 1974, but not before winning a state championship as a member of the Andover High School volleyball team. She then went on to study at Butler Community College. Shortly afterwards, Julie began employment at Dillon's grocery stores, a position she would hold for a few years before embarking on what would become a 37-year career with the USD 385 transportation department – a career that would see her rise from bus driver to director of transportation where she would oversee unprecedented growth in transportation services for the entire district. In 1976, she met Gary Clopton, and they wed that same year, going on to have three children - Aaron, Austin, and Alicia. With her children, she dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Julie excelled at propping up her children and their pursuits; and supporting them
through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Further, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others, including thousands of children over the years for whom she loved and cared for through school functions and interactions.
Julie was a passionate sewer and quilter and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her sewing room designing the newest quilt pattern – often as a welcomed gift for others. We will miss her greatly.

J ulie was predeceased by her brother, Gene Linn, and her parents Hardy and Lucille. She is survived by her son Aaron, his wife Sarah, and grandchildren Tatum, Kinsey, and Aaron, Jr. of Lawrence, KS; her son Austin and wife Abby of Plainville, CT; and daughter Alicia Moss, her husband Andrew, and grandchildren Lucille and Cooper of Andover, KS. Siblings: Karen Gilbert, Dean Gilbert (Karen) all of Wichita, KS; Bob Gilbert (Brenda) of Hutchinson, KS; Joni Gilbert of Andover, KS along with many relatives and friends.
