Joyce Guy McCready, 78, entered into eternity on Friday, October 13th in her room at Keepsake Kottage in Wichita, Kansas.

Born Joyce Elaine Guy on 11/01/44 to Arthur and Mildred Guy. She attended Talmage Elementary school and in 1962 graduated from Dickinson County Chapman High School. Joyce graduated from Kansas State University with her Bachelor's and later her Masters in Music Education. She married Stuart McCready of Longford, Kansas in 1965 and had their two children; Shannon Stuart and Marlo Elizabeth. Stu and Joyce divorced in 1974 and she then worked briefly in music education in Coffeyville, Kansas before deciding music was her passion but not her career path. She accepted a job with Southwestern Bell in Wichita in 1979. Joyce enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adeline's, an accapella women's barbershop group. She found some of her closest friends and sweetest memories around a piano. She also became the church pianist for Central Christian Church for twenty years. Joyce was active in her church and her faith, she brought Marlo and Shannon to Church 3 times a week even though it was a 30 minute drive each way. She would sit in the Church library while her kids attended church youth group. Shannon and Marlo each came to faith in that youth group and both met their spouses there as well. Shannon was later ordained into the ministry at Central Christian Church. Joyce continued to enjoy studying the scriptures with her Bible study Through the Eyes of Yeshua for many years.

Joyce is preceded in death by her brother Darryl Guy, her parents Arthur and Mildred Guy. She is survived by her sister, Sherryl McCosh (Gordon), and her son, Shannon McCready (wife Sherri) and grandchildren Isaac McCready (Amelia), Annie McCready, Elisa Dickerson (Vic) , and Elec McCready.
