Johnie Spivey, 91 , Army Veteran and owner of B & J Electric, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at his home in Wichita, KS with family by his side. Johnie was born to John and Goldie Spivey on June 21, 1928 in Stafford, Arkansas. While in the Army, he attended Engineer School in Ft Belvoir, VA, which helped on starting his own business- "B&J Electric."
Johnie had a love of sports- especially the Royals and KU, but he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching wrestling. He was a man who could be described in a few carefully chosen words: Caring, Loving, Generous. And that is how he will be remembered.
Johnie is survived by his wife, Ruby; His son, Terry (Pam) Spivey and daughter, Kathie Raiburn; His brother, Wayne (Joyce) Moudy; His grandchildren Jeremy (Misty) Raiburn, Josh (Niki) Raiburn, Terra Merrick (Paul), Nick Spivey, Natalie Spivey, Emily Spivey; His great-grandchildren, Kannon, Tanner, Ailey, Brett, Kate and Haley; and his beloved dog, Lacy. He is proceeded in death by his parents, John and Goldie; Sister Pauline Dacus; and sons, Billy Spivey and Larry Spivey.
Services for Johnie will be held Friday, July 19 at 10:00AM at Restoration Church- 1408 W 34th St S, Wichita, KS 67217. Followed with the commital service at Greenwood Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted, but also accepting memorials to Restoration Church, and Lifeline Animal Placement & Protection (LAPP) in Wichita.
