Maddux, John Lou, 85 , passed away March 27, 2022 in El Dorado.

J ohn was born to Ralph Houston and Fannie B. (Wilson) Maddux in El Dorado on June 12, 1936, the third of four children. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1955 and married Venettia Jacoby Feb 24,  1957. John was a hard worker who never met a stranger. He was an excellent judge of character and could make an assessment after about 15 minutes of conversation. He could not abide a liar or a cheat.

J ohn is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Lee; sister Donna Faye Cooper; sister-in-law Alta Williams Maddux; Nephews Randy L. and Richard "Rick" D. Maddux; and brother-in-law Dr. Donald Cooper.

S urvivors include his wife, son John David of Wichita, and brother Terry Joe (Vaudine) of Ellsworth, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

T here will be no services. Burial at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
