BATEMON, JOHN ARTHUR, 77,
retired Boeing machinist, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Via Christi-St. Francis with his family by his side. John was born on November 29, 1940 in Howard, KS to Floyd and Doris "VanBuskirk" Batemon. He married Mary Phillips on March 19, 1981. John was a lifelong fisherman and if he had spare time you could find him at the water with a line in. He enjoyed gardening and hunting, running trout lines and original country music like Conway, Hank, Merle and the classics. He never met a stranger and was always very quick to help his neighbors when it came time to harvest. He was an avid joker and always had one ready to tell you when he saw you. John and Mary raised 6 kids together and made a lifetime of memories.

ohn is survived by his loving wife Mary; children Johnny (Kim) of Goddard, Diana Neuway (Greg) of Goddard, Wanda Archuleta (Albert) of Wyoming, Mike of Wichita, David (Tammy) of Wichita, Gerald (Ericka) of Haysville and Sam (Jennifer) of Wichita; siblings Bill (Georgia), Sherri (Burden) and Rick; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Doris; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; daughter Pamela; 1 grandson and 1 granddaughter.
A
memorial service celebrating John's life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Goddard United Methodist Church,
300 N Cedar St, Goddard, KS 67052.
