Jerry Lynn
Bramwell, Sr.
October 27, 1944 — August 16, 2025
Wichita
JERRY LYNN BRAMWELL, SR., 80
,
passed away peacefully at his home in Wichita on August 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on October 27, 1944, in El Dorado, Kansas to Kenneth Story and Leona Pauline (Scott) Bramwell. He grew up in El Dorado where he attended school and worked alongside his family on the farm, learning the value of hard work and responsibility at a young age. After school, Jerry began working in construction as a carpenter before starting his career at Beech Aircraft. At only 20 years old, Jerry became an upholstery cutter there, a job he faithfully worked for 41 years until retiring at the age of 62. His strong work ethic and steady dedication became a cornerstone of his life.
In his quiet way, Jerry enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him joy. He loved tuning into action-packed cowboy shows like Walker, Texas Ranger and could often be found tending to his garden, where he always kept vegetables growing. His favorite pastime, though, was spending time outdoors—fishing, camping with his family, and being out on the water in his pontoon boat. Those times of peace, laughter, and togetherness created some of his family's most treasured memories.
Though Jerry was a little shy by nature, he was known for his kind and loving spirit. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first. He worked hard to provide for them and to take the very best care of those he loved. A man of faith, Jerry lived with a quiet devotion to God. He was a longtime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon. His heartfelt prayers were remembered by many as sincere, comforting, and full of strength.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Proctor; his children Dallas Bramwell, Jerry Bramwell, Jr., and Suzie Bramwell; grandchildren Zoey, Eli, Randy, Kim, Sean, Josh, Sam, Alyssa, and Faith; brother Larry Bramwell; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Leona Bramwell; brothers Keith Bramwell and Kermit Bramwell; in-laws Mary and Marvin Proctor; sister-in-law Wilma Conner; and brother-in-law Bobby Proctor.
A funeral service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Generations Church, 425 Greenvalley Dr., Andover, Kansas, with Pastor Steven Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Bruno Township Cemetery, Andover.
Jerry's life was one of faith, family, and love. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of kindness, devotion, and faithfulness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
