Born on February 23rd, 1977 in Wichita Kansas, Jeremy McKibban entered this world alongside two siblings to proud parents, Tom and Shelley. He peacefully left this world on December 7th, 2023 surrounded by love at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital. With a giant heart and a kind soul, his absence will be felt for years to come.

During Jeremy's early years, the family relocated to Rosalia where he attended grade school. Later, they returned to El Dorado, where Jeremy completed his high school education, graduating in 1995. He later pursued a degree at WTI, earning credentials in Information Technology. This laid the foundation for a successful career. Jeremy leveraged his education and talent to secure a position at Cargill, making significant contributions to the company. Later, he worked for the Kansas Masonic Home and Liberty Way Apartment Community where his skills and dedication made a lasting impact over many years.

Everyone who knew Jeremy recognized his intelligence. Genius was a word we often heard. From a young age, he exhibited a remarkable aptitude for programming and computer engineering, sitting for hours in front of the family computer tinkering with the green screen and teaching himself how to code. We're pretty sure he knew how to write code before long division. Throughout life, his curiosity and intelligence were evident in the hours he spent enhancing his vehicles, many of which he also totaled (let's be honest - he wasn't the best driver), the computers he would fix and build for family and friends, and anything else he could get his hands on. He was meticulous in everything he did, down to the way he ironed his clothes.

Having a sociable and approachable demeanor, Jeremy could strike up a conversation with anyone, never meeting a stranger. He approached others with kindness and responded with empathy and humility. He was the friend you turned to in high school, the life of the party, and a confidant for countless people beginning their journey in recovery. Beneath this exterior, Jeremy possessed a strong will that guided him through more life challenges than any one person should have to bear.

Jeremy leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and laughter. He is survived by his son, Jackson McKibban, his father, Tom (Cathy) McKibban, mother, Shelley (Mike) Mullennax, brother, Sean (Tammy) McKibban, sisters, Amie, April, and Allison McKibban, nephew Kyler McKibban, and countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phyllis and Farrol Finney, Donna Mitchell, Melvin and Pauline McKibban, uncles Michael Finney and Harry (Pete) Mitchell, Jr., and cousin Quentin Steele.

The family invites those who knew Jeremy to share memories on the tribute wall. A celebration of his life will be announced later, allowing time for family and friends to gather and honor Jeremy's memory in Wichita, Kansas  .
