LAUGHTON, JERALYN "JACY" CLYDENE (nee BARKER) MORGAN, 82, passed away on August 16, 2022 in Wichita.
J eralyn (Jacy) Clydene Laughton (nee Barker) was born as the eldest child of Clyde and Maxine (Wilkerson) Barker in Guymon, Oklahoma on July 28, 1940. When she was two years old, Jacy and her parents moved back to Liberal KS. When she was three, they moved to P rotection KS—a block from her maternal Wilkerson grandparents who helped raise the children. Her parents also brought into this world 3 siblings: Tressie Adcock of Costa Rica; Max Barker of Wichita KS; and Bert Barker of Texas.
J
acy birthed two remarkable sons: Dr. David Scott Morgan (Kelly) of Zionsville, Indiana near Indianapolis. Scott is a pedodontist; Kelly and Scott have 1 son, Christopher Morgan (Iris) of Washington DC.Dr. Darin Kip Morgan (Maria), of Spokane, WA and 10 children. 7 children by his first wife, Leslie, and 1 with Maria and Maria's first two children. Kip is the Director of the Radiology Dept. of the Veterans Hospital in Spokane WA. Kip's children with lovely Leslie (Stokes) are: Asher Morgan, Judah Morgan (Kristin), Abigail Morgan (Ross Diller), Zebulun Morgan, Dara Morgan, Levi Morgan, Reuben Morgan; and with sweet Maria are: Daniella Ellis, Dylon Ellis, Rebekah Morgan.
There are also 2 great grandchildren: 2 girls from Judah (Kristin).
J acy is preceded in death by her parents and her two husbands: Dr David Morgan (m. January 1962; divorced August 1970); Michael Laughton (m. May 1973, divorced in September 1986).In 1973, Jacy graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business from Indiana University School of Business (1970-73); she studied Edwards Deming - Jay Forrester Management. Deming taught not to touch any broken system until you have profound knowledge of that system and to change a system without profound knowledge is called tampering. In the 14 management principles taught that Deming identified, Forced Ranking is tampering. For Deming, the great sin was tampering. Forrester provided profound knowledge, fast, with System Dynamics. Jacy brought all these skills to each of her clients, including Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh, PA.
J acy became ill with Mercury poisoning after her first amalgam dental filling in the Fall 1961. She was not accurately diagnosed until 30 years later in the Fall of 1992. A massage therapist who had seen mercury poisoning previously suspected that may be the root cause of Jacy'sillness. Jacy and her mom went to see Dr. Hal Huggins clinic in Colorado Springs, CO where she discovered that her oxyhemoglobin was too low (29.5%). People are usually dead at 45%. Dr Huggins accepted her as a patient and personally treated her until her oxyhemoglobinreached 50%. Dr Huggins removed the mercury-laced fillings and refilled her teeth with non-toxic fillings.Jacy declared as a member of the Baha'i Faith in June 1992. She searched for a Faith that taught Unity for several years. She was delighted to find it and it's a most precious moment in her life. Jacy avoided official roles because serving is far more important than leading. As we serve, we lead. Everybody is a servant and a leader.
T hroughout her life, Jacy learned to question everything.Regarding the Triggering phenomenon…Jacy was curious about what happens in the human brain when we are threatened emotionally? She discovered that when emotionally threatened our heart brain sends a message to the thalamus that immediately shuts down access tothe 'higher brain.' This leaves the reptilian brain in charge, which damages and destroys our relationships. We can stop damaging our relationship by learning about the triggering phenomenon. Jacy developed a Triggering Phenomenon course of 20 classes, which she taught 3-4times to the clients of a local psychologist. Currently, Jacy had been working on a book, called A Frequency Interpretation of Spiritual Knowledge that addresses the fear that we're not doing what we need to do to get into heaven. Jacy loved Baha'i Spiritual Consultation because it teaches us how to celebrate our differences instead of letting them tear us apart.Jacy was a most remarkable woman who lived her life in the Miracles of God's Healing Love.
