Jayvan Schott
Fry
July 14, 1997 — June 23, 2023
Wichita
Jayvan Schott Fry passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at his home in Wichita Kansas after complications from a stroke. Jayvan passed away surrounded by love from his mother, aunt, uncle, and cat Meatloaf.
Jayvan was born on July 14th, 1997, to Tessa Marie Fry. Jayvan graduated from Olathe North High School in 2015.
Jayvan was a fun loving, adventure-seeking, witty person who loved to joke, laugh, and make others laugh. His sense of humor was sometimes so funny that it could make some around him a little uncomfortable and not know what to say, but in the end, everyone would end up laughing!!
Jayvan was a Kansas Jayhawk and Kansas City Chiefs fan from a very early age. He loved attending Chiefs games in person to watch them play, no matter how good or bad they were playing! When Harrison Butker missed a field goal Jayvan would say "I could make that kick" even though he was paralyzed from the waist down!! Again, that was Jayvans sense of humor.
Jayvan had a cat that he dearly loved that he acquired to be his companion at his apartment. The cat when adopted was named Meat Olaf, but when Jayvan first read the name, he misread it and called him Meatloaf!!! The name stuck!!
Jayvan loved playing video games with his gaming group and would spend several hours making friends and playing games while in the company of Meatloaf and his friends!
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his mother Tessa Marie Fry, Papa Ben Railsback ; Uncle Jacob Fry (Raelynn), Aunt Jessica Fry, Aunt Brooke Keyes (Alex), Aunt Kaleena Porter (Justin); Cousins Ireland Skurat, Kastyn Porter and Jasper Porter; Great Uncles John Wilber Negrete (Renee), Troy Allen Negrete (Kimberly) and Michael Lance Negrete; Second cousins Christopher Negrete, Chenell Negrete (Karie), Devin Negrete-Harvey (Glenn), Jordan and Amora Negrete, and many other relatives and friends, and of course Meatloaf!!
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Alice Marie Railsback; Great Grandparents Juan (Jake) Martinez Negrete; Donita (Darlene) Negrete.
A celebration of Jayvans life will be held this fall with a gathering of family and friends most likely during a Chiefs game. It will be awesome knowing Jayvan will be there waiting to go in to make the kick! Go Chiefs!!!!
