On Sunday, August 22, 2021, Helen Louise Gobel, loving wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 80.

Helen was born to Evan Mark Hurst and Lucy Ann Hurst (Camp) on August 13, 1941 in Winfield, KS. Helen was raised in a large family which included her stepfather Walter Shelby Baker, brothers David, Jim, Noel and Mervin Hurst, two half-brothers, two half-sisters, four stepsisters and one stepbrother.

On December 30, 1958, Helen was joined in matrimony to her husband of 63 years, Donald Wayne Gobel. Together they raised six children, 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her father (Evan), mother (Lucy), stepfather (Walter), three brothers (Jim, Noel and Mervin) and grandson, Nathaniel Glore.

Helen is survived by her husband (Don), children Roger Gobel (Theresa), Gerald Gobel (Jami), Shelby Gobel (Rebecca), Tammy Glore (Warren), Donnie Gobel (Trisha) and Daniel Gobel (Mandy).

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Exodus Church, 15200 E. Central Ave., Wichita on Thursday,  August 26, 2021. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 27 ^th , 2021 at Exodus Church at 15200 E. Central, Wichita, KS 67230 at 10:00 a.m. with a graveside service immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent t o the same address for the Exodus Church Building Fund.
