It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished Harriet Lee Skinner (Stewart), 91, who died unexpectedly on December 4th, 2025 in El Dorado, KS. Harriet was born on March 7th, 1934 to parents Chuck and Marie Stewart. She was the oldest of six children and was followed by her brothers Donald, Richard, David, Charles F. Jr. and Steven.

In 1953 Harriet moved to Madrid, Spain, where she had her two beloved children - Forrest Jr. (deceased) and Susan. She had an itch to travel and wound up living in Southern California, Las Vegas and Colorado (to name just a few!) before eventually moving back to El Dorado in August of 1982.

On May 18th, 1996 Harriet married the love of her life, Dan Skinner, in a ceremony in Reno, NV and the two were together until Dan's death in 2011.

Harriet had just about the best DVD collection in the entire Northern Hemisphere, with almost 3,000 titles to her name. She had the most infectious smile and would answer any joke with a sincere belly laugh. She loved square dancing, gardening, collecting vintage coins and Jimmy Dean's sausage patties. She taught herself to play the steel guitar and assisted in the restoration of historical houses in Redlands, CA. She was an art teacher in California and an incredibly talented old master style painter. She was absolutely one of a kind and she will be so deeply missed by her family.

Harriet leaves behind her daughter Susan (McCowan) Adams, brother Steven Stewart, grandchildren Christine (McCowan) Muetzel, Stacy (McCowan) Rodriguez, Michael McCowan and Mackenzie Adams as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her step-daughter Kay Moyer and step-sons David and Mark Skinner. The family will be holding a private ceremony in late January of 2026.
