Gezai Tekie Zigta
was born on September 2, 1948, to his parents Tekie Zigta and Tiblets Taedu in Gurgur, Akeleguzai, Eritrea.
God conquered his cancer and unaccustomed fragility by taking him eternally home on July 2, 2020. Beloved by all who knew him for his kindness, unfailingly positive attitude, Gezai will be missed by all of us.

ezai attended Elementary School at Senafe and Secondary School at Keren. After he got his training certificate he became a teacher at Keren.
In 1973, Gezai joined the armed struggle for liberation of Eritrea. In 1977, during the liberation of Massawa, he suffered a heavy wound and became paralyzed. However, due to his determination of fighting back he was able to walk on his own and continue to serve the liberation struggle until the Eritrean independence. After the liberation of Eritrea, Gezai served at the ministry of finance department of Inland Revenue.
In 1998, Gezai with his wife, the late Mrs Letenugus Tesfahune, and his two children, Abiel and Yohana, immigrated to the USA for a better life.

ezai is survived by his son; Abiel, daughter Yohana, and siblings; Asfeha, Admasu, Tesfaldet, Lemlem and Guai.
May God rest his soul in peace, and give the entire family strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.
