LAWRENCE, GEORGEANA, 97, passed away on August 30, 2026. Daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt Georgie, GMa, and fearless friend, was loved by all who knew her. Georgeana was born September 2, 1928 in Lincoln, NE. She grew up in Mound City, MO where she first saw Dave Lawrence on a basketball court. After high school and stenographer training Georgeana moved to Visalia, CA to follow a friend and a job, but could not escape the young man from Missouri. He followed her, wooed her, and then married her in Bakersfield, CA on March 22. 1952. 

Georgeana was preceeded in death by her parents, Fern and George Brown; sister Patty; brothers Rick, Harold, Glen, Charlie and Bill; her husband L. David Lawrence, Jr., and her son Stuart. She is survived by her sister Janice McGee, daughter Robbin Stafford (Les); grandkids Nic Lawrence (Erin), John Lawrence (Erin), Jamie Lawrence (Bryan Perez); four awesome great grand kids; many nieces and nephews; and of course her friends, old and new.

We fondly referred to our mother as "the pillar of our community". She tirelessly volunteered with such organizations as: Wichita Public Schools, Girl Scouts, Red Cross Handicapped Swimmers Program, Botanica, PRo Kansas/Miller Recycling, Bethel Presbyterian Church, and more. Georgeana was a Master Gardener, sports woman (volleyball, bowling, scuba diver, hiker), and was known by many for her peonies and brown bread.

Our family would like to thank all of Georgeana's caregivers in Andover Court Assisted Living, LifeCare Center  of Andover, Reeds Cove, and Phoenix Hospice for their unwaivering commitment to compassionate care and friendship in the past 7 years.
