Augusta
OHLUND, GEORGE EDWARD
, passed away on August 7, 2022 at Lakepoint Nursing Home, Augusta. George was born on February 5, 1947 in Maywood, California to Harold Edward and Betty Jo {Carlisle} Ohlund.
After graduating from Santa Barbara High School George attended Long Beach College of Business and Engineering and received Associates Degrees in Drafting and Design Tech and NC Programming making a lifelong career out of Design and Programming. George loved music from an early age, especially playing guitar and accompanying his mom and sister with their music. Listening to music and jam sessions were his favorite things to do and he met the love of his life Mary Kay at one and they married on July 12, 2012. George was also a lifelong scholar, always wanting to learn and further his knowledge; from health including his own and researching medical journals and politics that he followed closely but wasn't always vocal about. Weather was another fascination George held from an early age and he loved watching and learning about different weather patterns especially when he moved and was considered the premier weather authority for his family and friends. George had a fabulous personality that always drew people to him, sometimes for his dry wit, sometimes for his orneriness but mostly for his kindness and gentleness.
G eorge is survived by his wife Mary Kay of Andover; son Richard and wife Jennifer of Woodland Hills, CA; daughters Meredith Ohlund of Vista, CA and Cindy Ohlund of Hermitage, MO; grandchildren Wesley Ohlund of Woodland Hills, CA and Morgan Hall Vista, CA; sister Helen and husband Chester Brown of Bly, OR; in laws Cathi Ohlund of Irvine, CA, Bob Choate of Brementon, WA, David and Rita McCall, LeeAnn and Larry Plunkett of Minneapolis, KS, Sally and Gary Andrew of Hillsboro, KS, Alan McCall from Minneapolis, KS; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
