George Alan Hodgens, 69, passed suddenly Friday, February 14, 2025, at his home in El Dorado, Kansas. Alan was born March 23, 1955 to Kenneth Eugene and Anna Belle (Hilton) Hodgens at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, Kansas where he lived his entire life.

Alan is survived by his brother Kenneth Hodgens (Frieda) of Rociada, New Mexico; Aletha Barnes (Roger) of Wichita, KS; sons Doug Hodgens (Krystin) of Bel Aire, KS, and Mike Hodgens (Hannah) of Coweta, OK; grandchildren Mikala Silva (Javier) of Wichita, KS, Braden Hodgens of Wichita, KS, Mason Hodgens of Coweta OK, and Macy Olson of Bel Aire, KS; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Anna Belle Hodgens; nephew Gregg Hodgens.

Dad (Alan) was an accomplished Boy Scout of America achieving his Eagle Scout badge in May 1971. He graduated from Circle High School in 1973. Most of his career he worked at Union Tank Car in El Dorado. When Union Tank closed the El Dorado facility, he purchased Joe's Small Gas Engines just south of town and operated this business until he closed it down in 2020. Dad loved to work with his hands and was very mechanical. He had several muscle cars throughout his life (all Chevy's). He enjoyed road trips on his Harley, especially to Coweta to visit Mason and relax by the pool. He loved all of his grandchildren and visited them often in their early years. Dad had a soft heart and the way you could tell was by how many close friends he had. He had a great sense of humor, funny sayings, and we loved the messages he left us on voicemails that we still listen to today. He will be missed, but we have reassurance that he is in no more pain and with his Heavenly Father, undoubtedly driving his dream 1969 Chevelle SS. We love you dad and will see you again one day.

Per Dad's wishes, no formal service will be held. His close friends and family will gather together soon and celebrate his life.
