Geneva Mae Collins, née Bird, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Andover, Kansas. She was born on June 16, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas.

Geneva was educated at Andover High School and went on to build a career in medical records. She worked at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wesley Medical Center, and Kansas Medical Center, where she retired. Her working life reflected dedication and steady service, and she also found special meaning in being an American foster grandparent assisting in elementary schools, an accomplishment that spoke to her care for children and her desire to be of help to others.

She is survived by her son, Robert Collins of Andover, Kansas; her sister, Phyllis Bird of Andover, Kansas; and her sister, Donna Simon of Augusta, Kansas and 6 nieces and nephews. They carry forward her memory with love and gratitude.

Geneva was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary Bird and Raymond Bird, and by her sister, Shirley Pierpoint.
